Maruti Suzuki was amongst the first to announce a price hike of up to 4 percent across its entire portfolio. Come April 8, 2025, the Grand Vitara will see the highest price increase amongst all Maruti models. Let’s delve further into the exact price hike, the reasons behind it, and how it will impact the Grand Vitara range.
Currently, the Grand Vitara is priced between Rs 11.19 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti will increase its price by up to Rs 62,000. The primary reason behind the hike, as stated by Maruti, is to offset growing input costs and rising operational expenditures. This price hike could raise the starting price close to Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end variant might go beyond Rs 20.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti offers the Grand Vitara in six broad trims with two powertrain options. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103 PS and 137 Nm, and a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol unit with strong hybrid technology, delivering 116 PS and 141 Nm. The naturally aspirated engine also offers a choice of a factory-fitted CNG kit, which produces 88 PS in CNG mode. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox for NA petrol engine, while the strong hybrid powertrain is paired only with an e-CVT automatic transmission.

As for features, the Grand Vitara comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front-row seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-speaker sound system, a wireless phone charger, and cruise control. On the safety front, it offers six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
In terms of rivalry, the Grand Vitara takes on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.

So if you are in the market shopping for a compact SUV and the Grand Vitara is on your list, then you better hurry up and book yours as soon as possible. For those who want an electric Maruti SUV, the e Vitara is about to launch in the coming weeks!
