If you are in the market for a compact SUV, now might be a good time to consider one. The government is rolling out the new GST rates from September 22 and cars are set to get a lot cheaper! Read on to find out which are the top 5 compact SUVs with the highest price cut:

Maruti Grand Vitara - Up To Rs 1.07 Lakh!

The Maruti Grand Vitara is a popular option in the segment and will soon be available with a price reduction of up to Rs. 1.07 lakh. Current prices for the Maruti Grand Vitara range between Rs 11.42 lakh to Rs 20.68 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Grand Vitara comes with features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-way powered driver seat, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment and panoramic sunroof. It also gets 6 airbags (as standard), electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control, 360 degree camera and hill hold assist for safety. 

Maruti offers the Grand Vitara with a 103 PS 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options along with a 116 PS 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain. The NA petrol engine can also be had with a factory-fit CNG kit.

Citroen Basalt - Up To 1.02 Lakh!

The Citroen Basalt, with its coupe-SUV body style, is a unique option in the segment. With the GST reforms in effect, Citroen has cut the prices of the Basalt by up to Rs 1.02 lakh making it a great deal for the package it offers. Current prices for the Basalt range from Rs 7.95 to Rs 14.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

In terms of features, the Basalt gets a 10.25 inch touchscreen, Cara AI assistant, ventilated front seats, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charger and unique rear thigh support extenders. Its range of safety features includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill hold assist. 

Citroen Basalt

Under the hood, the Basalt is powered by a 81 PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 110 PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options.

Kia Seltos - Up To 75,372

The Kia Seltos has been a blockbuster success since day one. It offers a wide range of variants and powertrain options along with a long feature list that makes it an excellent choice. Kia has announced a price reduction up to Rs 75,372 which has made it even more attractive. The Seltos is priced between Rs 11.19 lakh to Rs 20.56 lakh (ex-showroom).

Technology-wise, the Seltos has you covered with equipment such as 10.25-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Safety-wise, the Seltos gets 6 airbags, Level-2 ADAS suite, a 360 degree camera, electronic stability control as well as front and rear parking sensors.

Kia Seltos

The Seltos can be had with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol making 115PS, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol making 160PS or a 1.5-litre diesel making 115PS. All three can be had with manual and automatic transmissions.

Hyundai Creta - Up To 72,145

Hyundai’s Creta dominates the compact SUV segment. With the perfect combo of wide range of variants, quiet interiors, good comfort levels and the latest gadgetry, it is no surprise that it is Hyundai’s top seller. If you are looking at the Creta, you would be delighted to know that Hyundai reduced its prices by up to Rs 72,145 with the GST reforms in place. As of now, the Creta is priced at Rs 11.11 lakh to Rs 20.92 lakh (ex-showroom). Do note that prices of the Hyundai Creta Electric remain unchanged as it is continued to be taxed at 5 percent. 

Hyundai has equipped the Creta with features such as 10.25-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, in-built dashcam, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. For safety, it gets 6-airbags, Level 2 ADAS suite, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system and electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Hyundai Creta

Under the hood, it gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol with 115PS , 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 160 PS and 1.5-litre diesel with 115PS. The naturally-aspirated petrol and diesel get a choice of manual and automatic transmissions while the turbo-petrol can only be had as an automatic. However, if you opt for the sportier Creta N Line, the turbo-petrol engine can also be paired with a 6-speed stick shifter. 

Volkswagen Taigun - Up To 68,400

From the day it was launched, Volkswagen’s Taigun has been the go to choice for driving enthusiasts. Mature European styling, impressive ride and handling manners as well as a neatly styled interior define the Taigun. Volkswagen has announced a price cut up to Rs 68,400. Currently, the Taigun range is priced from Rs 11.39 lakh to Rs 19.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Taigun gets features like a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 8-inch digital driver’s display, single pane sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation, cruise control and ambient lighting. Safety-wise it has scored a 5-star Global NCAP crash safety rating and gets 6 airbags, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system and hill hold control.

It is powered by a 115PS 1.0-litre and a 150PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former can be had with 6 speed manual and automatic transmissions while the latter gets a choice of 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.
