Design
Soft and gentle, the design of the Vespa ZX 125 is very old-school Italian and classical in styling. With a round headlight and chrome-finished round mirrors, the scooter’s slim profile gives it a bold and striking stance. Accentuating the look are seven vibrant colour options including grey, red, black, white, pink, yellow and blue. The rounded look also makes the front apron perceivably tall and spacious for enough leg room behind it for the rider. Even the shape of the sloping one-piece seat with an approachable 770mm seat height offers a dash of nostalgia.

Engine
Powered by a 124.45cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine mated to a CVT gearbox, the ZX makes 9.5PS and 9.9Nm. Mate that to a kerb weight of 115kg, the performance should be pretty sprightly. The 7.4 litre fuel tank should offer good practical usage for urban commuting.

Underpinnings
Underneath the retro look are modern bits like a monocoque steel chassis, aircraft-inspired single-side front suspension designed to reduce the dive and a rear hydraulic shock absorber. The braking department on the ZX variant is handled by a 200mm disc brake at the front and a 140mm rear drum brake. The Vespa ZX gets tubeless tyres (90/100) front and back.

Price
Priced at 1.15 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi) this is one of the more expensive 125cc scooters available today. It is directly rivaled by the Yamaha Fascino 125 starting at Rs 83,630(ex-showroom) and Suzuki Access 125 starting at Rs 79,300(ex-showroom), which are significantly cheaper than the Vespa at their respective price points.
