Volkswagen ID.4

Volkswagen India has showcased the ID.4 electric SUV and has confirmed it will be launched by the end of 2024. The upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 will be brought to India as a fully imported model and is expected to be priced from around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom). The VW ID.4 electric SUV will kickstart the German carmaker’s EV innings in India. 

Features of Volkswagen ID.4 : The ID.4 offers a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, three-zone climate control, a digital driver’s display, powered front seats with heating, ambient lighting, heads-up display, wireless mobile charging and a panoramic glass-roof. In terms of safety, features in the ID.4 include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Volkswagen ID.4 Engine : The VW ID.4 is offered internationally in four variants, featuring both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) options. In the United Kingdom, the base RWD variant packs a 52kWh battery mated to a single rear wheel drive motor churning out 170 PS and a 360 km driving range. The second in the line-up is a long range RWD variant packing in a 77kWh battery mated to a single rear-wheel drive motor producing 286 PS and 541 km claimed range. The long range AWD model gets a 77kWh battery mated to a dual motor all-wheel drive system producing 286 PS and 541 km claimed range. The fourth and the most powerful variant is the GTX which again packs in a 77kWh battery mated to a dual motor all-wheel drive system making 340 PS but a slightly lesser claimed range of 510 km. It is yet to be confirmed as to which variants make it to India.

Volkswagen ID.4 Rivals : It will rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and the Skoda Enyaq.
