  • Teaser shared on social media today.
  • The scooter has been spotted testing recently.
  • Could be an electric version of the Jupiter.

There are two very large movements taking place in the Indian two-wheeler industry at the moment. The first is the transition to BS6 emission norms, which has given us multiple new and updated models every week, and the second is the electric revolution. The latter started off as a movement among startups but major manufacturers are now getting involved as well. After Bajaj and its Chetak, it’s now TVS who will be launching its own electric scooter very soon.

A teaser image has made its way onto the brand’s social media platforms and we’ve also spotted the company testing an electric scooter recently. Furthermore, we received an invite for a launch event on January 25. Putting two and two together, we can only guess that the brand plans to launch its upcoming electric scooter this Saturday.

Now before you get ahead of yourselves, we should tell you that this e-scooter isn’t going to be anything like the radical Creon that TVS treated us to at Auto Expo 2018. From the spy video available, we can conclude that this will be a far more conventional e-scooter, something like an electric version of the Jupiter perhaps.

TVS has already equipped various vehicles in its lineup with Bluetooth connectivity, including the NTorq scooter. So we expect the e-scooter to be well equipped, coming with fully digital instrumentation, Bluetooth connectivity and LED lighting. The test mule also featured a telescopic fork and front disc brake - something which we think it’ll need because it looks quite zippy in the clip. Not much else is known, but all will be revealed soon. So stay tuned to ZigWheels for more updates.
