Launched in October 2010, the Tata Aria represented some absolutely fresh and unattempted in the Indian passenger car market. Becoming the first real crossover with 4X4 capabilities, the Aria gained quite a bit of recognition primarily because of its multi-functional performance capabilities coupled with its great styling and its upmarket comfort quotient.
However, being slightly over priced even with all its one of a kind features the 4x4 all-in-one UV did unfortunately see the backs of many potential customers. So, Tata has now introduced a 4X2 version, of its flagship Aria model, which not only makes its model range more comprehensive, but also results in a price drop from 13.25 lakhs for the base model of the 4X4 model, to 11.61 lakhs for the base 4X2 model.
Seeing the potential for better business and increased sales of the Aria model with the introduction of this 4X2 model, Mr. P M Telang, Managing Director - India Operations, Tata Motors said, "As the first Indian 4x4 crossover, the Tata Aria has broken a new path for Tata Motors. With the introduction of the Aria 4x2, we make the range comprehensive. The pleasure of the Aria, combining the finesse of a sedan with the muscle of an SUV, can now be availed by a larger customer segment."

Even in its 4x2 avatar, the Aria will offer its customer the same muscle and power output through its advanced 2.2 litre Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine, with variable turbine technology and 32-bit ECU that delivers 140 PS power and 320 Nm torque.
Comfort features like its premium upholstery, spacious interiors, height-adjustable driver's seat and the tilt adjustable steering, automatic climate control etc and standard safety features like its Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Breakforce Distribution (EBD) will all remain just the same, but all of this now at a far better price tag.
The Tata Aria 4x2 has been launched in three trim levels, the Aria Prestige at the top end, the Aria Pleasure and the base level Aria Pure variant. Available from Rs. 11.61 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, New Delhi), the new Tata Aria range along with its new 4x2 model is being made available, in 85 cities through 150 Showrooms in phase 1.
Tata Aria 4x2 Variant Wise Pricing:
Pure: Rs 11.61 lakh
Pleasure: Rs 12.61 lakh
