A 145PS three-cylinder sportbike with a World Supersport chassis and race-spec hardware!

ZXMoto 820RR-R: Supersport Tech At Mid-range Price

ZXMoto's 820RR-R sportbike has gone on sale in China, with final production specifications now confirmed. With a 145PS three-cylinder engine and a chassis that comes directly from a World Supersport championship-winning machine, the 820RR-R is a serious machine and sits firmly in the mid-range segment.

Race-Bred Pedigree

The ZXMoto 820RR-R runs a chassis with real racing history. Rider Valentin Debise has taken six World Supersport wins on this platform. Geometry and component choices follow from that competition brief. Rake, ride height, and the swingarm pivot point are all adjustable, giving track-day riders fine control over the setup.

Power and Hardware

The 820RR-R uses an 819cc three-cylinder engine with titanium valves. ZXMoto quotes peak power of 145PS at 13,500rpm and 82.71Nm at 10,000rpm. At 186kg kerb, it undercuts many supersport rivals on the weighing scale, giving it a great power-to-weight ration. The bike sports premium hardware throughout. Brembo M50 callipers with dual 330mm discs up front, fully-adjustable KYB suspension at both ends, and the fork internals get a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating to cut friction. With forged wheels to cut weight, it gets super sticky Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4 tyres to grip the tarmac.

A Massive Electronics Suite

A 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) governs the 820RR-R's electronics package. Cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control come standard, along with launch control, wheelie control, and a bidirectional quickshifter. All of that data is presented through a 6.2-inch TFT instrument cluster running Android as its operating system.

Launch and Pricing

ZXMoto has priced the 820RR-R in China at roughly $9,100 USD (around Rs 7.6 lakh). That puts it squarely against rivals like the upcoming Yamaha R9. While sales are underway in China, ZXMoto has not confirmed whether the brand will make its bike available in India, US, or other markets as of now. That said, we do hope the brand makes its way to our shores and we finally get a proper supersport alternative to the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R in the country.
