Tata Harrier Stealth Or Dark Edition: Which One Will Be Your Pick?

The Tata Harrier is yet again dressed up new in a Stealth Edition, and this isn’t the first time the Harrier SUV got completely blacked out. We previously had the Dark Edition, which is still on sale now and largely serves a similar purpose. So, what made Tata introduce yet another tweaked dark-themed edition? They surely have their reasons otherwise, the Indian conglomerate wouldn’t be on a spree of having special editions across its entire portfolio.

Let’s take a closer look at both Harrier editions to identify the notable differences and similarities.

Tata Harrier Stealth vs Dark: Design

The Tata Harrier Stealth and Dark, both the editions are well blacked-out versions of the big SUV that give it a menacing look. But there are a few differences that set them apart. The most noticeable distinction is in the exterior finish. While the Dark Edition sports a gloss black paint, the Stealth Edition features a matte black finish, making it look sportier. The front, except that, is all the same.

Beyond that, most design elements remain the same. The grille, bumper, skid plate, ORVMs, and door handles are all blacked out, and both editions carry their respective edition name badging on the front fender. The 19-inch alloy wheels are also blacked out, but the Stealth Edition gets a different design compared to the Dark Edition.

At the rear, there are no major differences apart from the type of body paint, maintaining the stealthy, all-black theme across both models.

The Tata Harrier Dark Edition features some chrome accents in the interior, including the door handles. In contrast, the Stealth Edition opts for an all-black finish for a more uniform look. Both editions come with black-coloured leatherette upholstery for the seats.

The top-spec variant is equipped with a host of premium features, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital driver display, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, powered tailgate, auto-dimming IRVM and rain-sensing wipers.  

On the safety front, the Harrier offers 7 airbags (6 as standard), a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat mounts and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Both the Tata Harrier Stealth and Dark editions are powered by the same powertrain option.

It's important to note that the Tata Harrier Stealth is only offered on the top-spec Fearless Plus variant of the standard model that too for a limited 2700 units. The Harrier Dark on the other hand is readily on sale and has been extended to the lower-spec Pure Plus, Adventure Plus and Fearless trims as well, hence making it more accessible than the Stealth. 

This move by Tata in bringing these new editions for the Harrier could potentially result in a push in the sales of the SUV, as it has just become more appealing in terms of its road presence.
