Under the new CSR initiative called ‘Shakti and Garud’, Hero MotoCorp presented 20 new Hero Duet scooters and 30 new Hero Achiever motorcycles to Gautam Budh Nagar police officers. They come equipped with sirens, flash lights, PA systems and other essential police accessories. The new Hero two-wheelers will allow the police officers to patrol and maintain order with more efficiency.
Vijay Sethi, CIO and head of CSR at Hero MotoCorp said, "As the market leader and responsible corporate citizen, Hero MotoCorp is always committed towards bringing positive changes in the society. The company has various initiatives across national and regional levels and our decision to extend our CSR drive to Uttar Pradesh is a reaffirmation of the longstanding commitment.”

Besides the ‘Shakti and Garud’ initiative, Hero MotoCorp has already adopted a ‘Traffic Training Park’ at Lucknow equipped with riding simulators and other facilities, where road safety awareness programs are conducted regularly for school and college students and other institutions, in partnership with the local Traffic Police. The company also runs a ‘Responsible Citizen Program’ with the Uttar Pradesh Police to promote road safety in the region.
Under ‘Ride Safe India’, Hero MotoCorp also conducts various nationwide programs to promote road safety. Hero MotoCorp has additionally adopted Traffic Parks in Hyderabad, Gurugram, Delhi, Rourkela and Nagpur. The company also runs a Student Police Cadets (SPC) program in association with the Haryana Police. Students from 50 schools in Gurugram have been enrolled in multiple planned activities to inculcate community skills in their personalities and respect for law.
