India's highest selling carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch two new cars in India in 2019-20. And no, they won't be part of yearly updates or facelifts, which are scheduled for the year. These will be completely new models. In fact, we suspect one of these could be the replacement for the Alto.
Maruti Suzuki has also confirmed that the two cars will feature a BSVI engine, but will be able to run on BSIV fuel. This will help the company in rolling out the cars nationwide. Currently, Delhi is the only city where the low-sulphur BSVI fuel is available. However, neighbouring cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram and Noida are expected to get the same by April 2019.

The company is expected to make a complete transition to BSVI engines by the end of next year i.e December 2019. This will eventually drive up the prices of the existing model by around Rs 10,000.
Until then, the company's upcoming updates and facelifts are expected to pack a BSIV engine for now. The new WagonR being one of them, which is scheduled for a launch some time around Jan or Feb 2019. Speaking of which, even the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza are set to receive facelifts next year, hinting at a busy few years for Maruti Suzuki.
