Besides the new CB1000RR-R Fireblade models, Honda also revealed a sporty looking adventure tourer concept called the CB4X. Designed and built by the folks at Honda’s R&D centre in Rome, this sporty looking tourer looks more MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 than Africa Twin.

The design focus was mainly the ability to cover long distances and be equally capable cornering on mountain passes. The CB4X Concept is a crossover between a sports bike and a tourer. It gets a sharp and minimalistic bodywork and slim LED headlamps. The electrically adjustable windscreen sits flush with the fairing while the flattish handlebar holds a digital instrument console. In true Honda tradition, the CB4X gets an in-line four motor. While not many details are available, we do know that it gets an aluminium subframe and 17-inch wheels.

While the CB4X is more of a design exercise, we would love to see it turn into production. An in-line four-cylinder motor from the CBR650R would be perfect for this, don’t you think?
