    The compact little Gemopai Miso e-scooter has been launched in India at Rs 44,000 ex-showroom. You can visit any of the 60 odd Gemopai dealerships across India to test ride the scooter. It’s also available at a discount of Rs 2,000 until July 15, 2020, and comes with a 3-year free service package. Interestingly, you do not need a licence to ride the Miso thanks to its specifications.

    The entire e-scooter is manufactured locally barring its lithium-ion battery pack. Its barebone structure is made up of bent tube pipes, thus making it a cost-effective solution. Other notable features include an all-LED projector headlamp running LED DRLs and an LCD instrument console.

    What’s unique about this scooter is that it gets a single-piece seat which could be key for a world where social distancing is the new norm. The battery pack is mounted on the floorboard and the hub-mounted electric motor makes room for large packages. The Miso is available in two variants: with and without a carrier. The latter can carry loads of up to 70kg. The entire package weighs in at just 45kg kerb but it’s capable of hauling a payload of up to 125kg.

    The Miso is powered by a 250-watt hub-mounted electric motor that delivers a claimed top speed of 25-35kmph. Its lithium-ion battery pack can return a range of up to 75km and can be charged up to 90 per cent in two hours but it takes three to four hours for a full charge. In terms of hardware, the Miso comes equipped with a conventional telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. Its tiny 16-inch alloy wheels use tubeless tyres and drum brakes for anchorage. 

    The Gemopai Miso could prove quite beneficial for B2B transportation. Its compact form could make it quite useful for your daily commutes as well. It competes against the TVS XL100.
