The Security Evo G3 Boot is about as high-tech as it sounds. Conceived by none other than the guys at BMW Motorrad, the lightweight boot boasts of a two part construction, namely a removable inner safety shell and an outer boot. The ultralight boot is said to be the pinnacle of comfort, strength and protection.
The boot construction is about as complex as a bike! The Security Evo G3 boot boasts of an inner boot that is constructed of aramid, better known as a heat, solvent and impact resistant synthetic fibre that has mainly been used in bulletproof vests and flame retardant garments. Thanks to this level of construction, it can withstand enormous forces, doesn’t melt and retains its strength up to temperatures touching 500ºC. Further to this, the inner boot has been designed to allow natural rotation of the angle as it is articulated. There is a triple layer aramid web over the toes and a four layer shin guard that enhances the safety of more exposed body parts.
The outer boot is crafted from lightweight kangaroo leather which happens to offer the same abrasion protection that cowhide does, but it allows the leather to be almost 40 per cent thinner and therefore lighter, better ventilated and more flexible. The outer boot also features a moulded polyurethane gear shift panel on the left side to prevent extra wear, and a non-slip, water- and oil-resistant sole. Plastic toe sliders can be replaced or upgraded with reinforced metal items for increased life.
No doubt, the BMW Motorrad Security Evo G3 Boot is highly desirable and a must have for serious bike riders.
