Soon after launching the 3 Series Gran Limousine, BMW India has rejigged the 3 Series lineup. The Bavarian carmaker has discontinued the entry-level 320D Sport and the 3 Series GT. The current lineup, which begins from the 330i Sport variant, is now priced from Rs 42.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
320D Sport Discontinued

The entry-level BMW 320D Sport diesel, which was priced at Rs 42.80 lakh (ex-showroom), has been discontinued. It was a whopping Rs 5.10 lakh more affordable than the 320D Luxury Line (Rs 47.90 lakh). The 320D Sport also packed a fair amount of kit such as an 8.8-inch i-Drive infotainment system, cruise control, three-zone climate control, drive modes, launch control, and powered front seats. The safety suite comprised six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitor.
One can opt for the Sport variant with the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor. This variant is priced at Rs 42.60 lakh.
3 Series GT Discontinued

Along with the 320D Sport, the 3 Series GT, priced at Rs 42.50 lakh, has also been discontinued. Its main distinguishing factor was its sloping roofline, which gave it a coupe-esque design. The last batch, christened the Shadow Edition, came with blacked-out design elements, giving it a sportier look. It was offered with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine before facing the axe.

The recently launched 3 Series Gran Limousine, priced from Rs 51.50 lakh (ex-showroom), is the successor to the 3 Series GT in India. The highlight here is the extended wheelbase, which liberates more legroom for rear occupants. You can read our impressions of the 3 GL here.
