Maruti has been teasing the upcoming all-new Wagon R for quite some time now. But in the videos that the company released today, the car has been fully revealed. Officially, this is the first time the Maruti WagonR has been shown to the public, before its launch on 23 January. Now, we have almost all the information, including the specifications, features and engine options of the 2019 Maruti WagonR. Let's have a look at the videos and the pictures revealed.

Teaser - 1

  • While the 2019 WagonR still retains its tall-boy design, the overall body shell is now more rounded, in line with more expensive Maruti cars.

  • The headlamps are housed in the upper half of the split-section assembly and the pilot lamp and the indicator are in the bottom half.
  • Headlamps are regular halogen units and Maruti has given projector units or LED lights a miss. Also, like the Santro and Tiago, there are no DRLs on offer.

Teaser - 2

  • Slight scoops around the wheel arches give them a flared look.
  • There are no alloy wheels on offer. It will only get a set of 14-inch steel wheels with caps.
  • Though the taillamp layout is still vertical, it has been moved up next to the rear windscreen.

  • The chrome strip with the vehicle name over the license plate has been retained from the outgoing model.
  • The partially floating roof design from the Swift is seen here too, with a black cladding on the C-pillar and a blacked out B-pillar.

  • Rear parking sensors will be offered as standard. But, there is no reversing camera on offer.

Teaser - 3

  • The 2019 WagonR will get ORVM-mounted turn indicators to help it look more premium.
  • Instead of LEDs or even LED guide lights, the tail lamps use regular bulbs. An addition of at least the latter would have gone a long way in helping the WagonR stand out.
  • The chrome inserts in the lower part highlight the clear lens indicators and reverse lights.

Teaser - 4

  • The Wagon R will be available with two engine options - a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine, same as the current WagonR, and the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder from the Ignis, Dzire and the Swift.
  • The 1.0-litre unit makes 68PS of max power while the 1.2-litre motor makes 83PS.

Bookings are already underway and deliveries are expected to begin immediately after launch.
