Porsche’s Cayenne Electric Is Finally In India! Prices Start At Rs 1.77 Crore

Porsche finally debuts the electric iteration of its Cayenne SUV, a year after launching it in India. The Cayenne Electric joins the Taycan and Macan Electric, making it the third Porsche electric model in India. Can the flagship electric SUV make an impact in our market, rather than just be considered as another electric SUV from the manufacturer?

Prices for the electric Cayenne are Rs 1.77 crore for the former, while the Turbo would set you back by Rs 2.27 crore (both prices ex-showroom, India). Porsche is all set to unveil the electric iteration of its Cayenne SUV in Electric and Turbo variants on September 30th a year after launching it in India.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric: Exterior

The electric Cayenne has certain EV-specific changes over the standard internal combustion-engined SUV, like the closed-off nose and vents lower down, but the overall Cayenne-ness – sloping roofline, pronounced wheel arches, LED rear light bar – remain.

The aforementioned vents feature active aerodynamics, and open and close to cool the battery and electrical components.

It’s clear that Porsche wanted the SUV to be identifiable as a Cayenne first, and an electric later. It measures 4,985mm in length, 1,980mm in width and is 1,674mm tall.

We like the Porsche Cayenne Electric’s completely redesigned cabin, which blends the brand’s familiar sporty layout with a much more digital interface. What’s unmistakable as soon as you’re sat in the cabin is Porsche’s new 14.5-inch Flow Display, a curved OLED screen that seamlessly extends into the centre console. It is joined by a 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch passenger display, giving the Cayenne the largest continuous display ever seen in a Porsche. Despite the screen-heavy cabin, Porsche has done well to retain physical controls for frequently used functions such as the air-conditioning and audio volume. An ergonomic hand rest below the infotainment also makes it easier to operate the touchscreen while driving.

However, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer has done well to retain the practicalities expected of a luxury SUV. Some notable features include electrically adjustable rear seats, heated surfaces and Mood Modes that allow occupants to alter the cabin ambience. Buyers can further personalise the cabin with different materials, colours and trims, including leather-free Race-Tex upholstery with a Pepita pattern. We’ve already waxed eloquent about the tech-laden cabin; however, Porsche has done well to retain the practicality expected from a luxury SUV. An augmented-reality head-up display, conventional controls for frequently used functions, up to 18-way electrically adjustable front seats, and an optional 20-speaker Harman Kardon system are just some of the features available on this SUV.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric: Safety

The Porsche Cayenne Electric comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance features. Eight airbags, ABS, traction control, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and a tyre-pressure monitoring system are standard kit. Porsche has also equipped the Cayenne Electric with a range of driver-assistance systems that can detect parking spaces and automatically take over steering and forward/reverse movement during parking. The optional ParkAssist package adds features such as Trained Parking, Reversing Assistant and a Transparent Bonnet function, which uses camera feeds to give the driver a better view of obstacles right under the vehicle.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric: Drivetrain

The Porsche Cayenne Electric comes with a 113kWh battery, AWD, up to and 390kW DC charging as standard. However, that’s where the similarities end. The standard version makes up to 442 PS with Launch Control and 853 Nm. It does the 0-100 kmph sprint in a claimed 4.8 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 230 kmph. The Turbo, on the other hand, puts out a colossal 1156 PS and 1500 Nm. This reduces the 0-100 kmph sprint to 2.8 seconds and increases the top speed to 260kph.

The 390 kW charging can take the battery from 10-80 per cent in less than 16 minutes. It’s also the first Porsche to offer wireless charging up to 11 kW. The Porsche Cayenne Electric’s range is between 642km and according to the WLTP cycle, while the Turbo can go 623 km on a single charge. The Cayenne Electric can also recuperate at 600 kW, which, according to Porsche, handles 97 per cent of the braking.

The Cayenne Electric gets upto 400 kW DC fast charging, capable of charging the battry from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 16 minutes! Meanwhile, it also gets wireless charging capabilities of upto 11 kW using an inductive charging pad.

The big electric SUV also gets rear-axle steering capable of turning up to 5 degrees.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric sits in a niche part of the luxury EV market, combining performance with the practicality of a large SUV. Its key rivals in India include the BMW iX, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, the Lotus Eletre and the upcoming Range Rover Electric.
