KTM RC 160

KTM recently launched the all-new RC 160 in India at Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Positioned as the fully-faired alternative to the 160 Duke, the RC 160 is priced Rs 14,455 higher than its naked sibling. With this launch, KTM aims to attract buyers looking for a more aggressive, track-inspired motorcycle in the entry-level performance segment.

Design

In terms of design, the KTM RC 160 draws heavy inspiration from the larger RC models. It features sharp bodywork, a full fairing, an aerodynamic front cowl and a sporty riding stance that clearly sets it apart from the Duke. The motorcycle gets all-LED lighting, including a clean looking headlamp and neatly integrated LED DRLs, giving it a modern and premium appeal.

Console

KTM RC 160

The KTM RC 160 comes quite well equipped for a 160cc bike. It gets a 5-inch LCD instrument console, similar to the base variant of the KTM 160 Duke. The console supports smartphone connectivity, offering turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, and music controls, making it practical for everyday riding despite its sporty character.

Rider Aids

Powering the KTM RC 160 is the same engine found on the 160 Duke. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and comes equipped with a slipper clutch, which helps reduce wheel hop during aggressive downshifts. It also gets dual-channel ABS as standard.

Underpinnings 

KTM RC 160

The bike is built around a lightweight chassis and features a 37mm USD fork, along with a rear monoshock with preload adjustability.  It comes with low-set clip-on bars, which gives the RC 160 its committed riding ergonomics. It runs on 17-inch, light weight alloys wheels at both ends, with a 110-section front and a 140-section rear tyre. It gets a 320mm front and a 230mm rear, hubless disc brake setup, just as the bigger KTM RC 390.
