  • Around a week back, Indian Motorcycle unveiled its 2021 Chief range in three distinct variants: Dark Horse, Dark Horse Bobber, and Super Chief Limited. The bikes were expected to be launched in India sometime around September 2021. However, Indian Motorcycle has now announced that it will launch the new Chief range here by the second quarter of 2021.

The three variants differ only in appearance. The Chief Dark Horse, as the name suggests, gets a blacked-out treatment with alloy wheels, a flat handlebar, and neutral-set footpegs. The Bobber, on the other hand, takes a more conventional approach with spoke rims, mini ape hangers, and forward-set footpegs. Also Read: 2021 Indian FTR 1200 Range

As for the Super Chief Limited, it gets a large windshield, easy-to-reach handlebars, floorboards, and a comfortable pillion seat. It also features a generous amount of chrome elements. The Chief’s old-school charm complements modern features such as LED lighting all around and a 4-inch round touchscreen instrument console with smartphone connectivity. The 2021 Indian Chief range is powered by a larger 1,890cc big-bore air-cooled V-twin that makes 162Nm at revs as low as 3200rpm. The motor gets a six-speed transmission, cruise control, three ride modes: sport, standard and tour as well as dual-channel ABS as standard. The hardware is pretty much the same as the earlier model. You can read more about it here.

In terms of pricing, we expect the Chief range to start from Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom India), making them quite expensive!
