The 2021 Asian LeMans series is set to see a lot of Indian presence with the launch of the first all-Indian endurance racing team. The Racing Team India lineup combines experience, youth and speed. The team will compete in the LMP2 category, running an ORECA 07 car with the Indian tricolour livery. Technical backing will be provided by the defending Asian LeMans teams champions Algarve Pro Racing.

Spearheading the team’s campaign will be India’s first Formula One driver Narain Karthikeyan, who has had experience in Le Mans racing with the Kolles Audi team. Next up is Arjun Maini, who raced with Algarve Pro Racing last season in the European LeMans Series. Rounding off the all-Indian lineup is Naveen Rao, the reigning 2020 IMSA Prototype Challenge champion.
While the team’s entry is currently confirmed for the 2021 Asian LeMans Series, it is also aiming to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France later in the season.

The 2021 Asian LeMans Series is scheduled to kick off on February 5-6, 2021 and come to a close on February 19-20. A total of four races will take place over the two race weekends at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi with each race lasting 4 hrs.
Racing Team India will have to win the Asian LeMans title to qualify for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France this year, in fact, it will be an automatic invitation to this prestigious racing event.
