Kia India has launched their most affordable EV - the Syros EV. It is priced at Rs 13.50 lakh and is also being offered with a Battery-as-a-service (BaaS) plan. If you opt for the latter, the cost goes down further to Rs 7.99 lakh, but incurs a battery rental fee of Rs 3.3 per km. The Syros EV, just like its ICE counterpart, is a well-equipped car with plenty of features and two battery options. Read below to know more about the electrified Syros:

Design
The Syros EV looks largely identical to the standard Syros, with Kia making just enough changes to give it an electric identity. Up front, it gets a closed-off grille with a new pixel-inspired pattern, a redesigned bumper with silver accents, and a charging port placed at the front. The vertically stacked LED headlamps and DRLs have been carried over from the ICE model.

The side profile remains unchanged, although the EV gets a new design for the alloy wheels to improve aerodynamics.

At the rear, the connected LED tail lamps have been retained, while the bumper has been slightly revised. Overall, the changes are subtle, making the Syros EV look more like an electric version of the standard SUV rather than an all-new model.

Interior & Features
Step inside, and the Syros EV retains the same cabin layout as its ICE sibling, with a few tweaks to reflect its electric nature. It continues with the dual 12.3-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital driver's display, while the centre console has been revised to offer additional storage space. New interior trims and upholstery options further help distinguish the EV from its petrol-powered counterpart.

Feature-wise, the Syros EV packs everything you'd expect from a modern electric SUV. Highlights include ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, powered driver's seat, ambient lighting, connected car technology, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.
Safety is also well covered with six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS.

Battery Pack & Range
The Syros EV is equipped with a single-motor and front wheel drive setup paired with two battery options. The detailed specifications of the Kia Syros EV are as follows:

Rivals
The Kia Syros EV is a well-loaded alternative to the likes of Kia Syros ICE, Mahindra XUV 3XO, VinFast VF6, MG Windsor EV and Tata Nexon EV.
ZigSays…
The Syros already stood out for offering a spacious cabin and an extensive feature list, and the EV builds on those strengths rather than trying to reinvent the formula. Its claimed range of up to 526 km also puts it among the more capable electric SUVs in its price bracket, while the familiar design means it won't alienate buyers who liked the standard model. If Kia prices it competitively, the Syros EV could become a compelling alternative to the likes of the Tata Curvv EV, MG Windsor EV and Mahindra BE 6, especially for buyers looking for a practical family EV with plenty of tech.
