Yamaha India has announced a massive price cut up to Rs 1,10,000 on the Yamaha R3 and the Yamaha MT-03. Both the bikes are now a lot more affordable than before and most importantly, more competitive compared to rivals.
Here’s a detailed breakdown of the prices with the new price cut.

Back when both the models were launched in India, the prices were a bit too high as compared to the rivals. The Yamaha R3, for example, was priced Rs 44,900 over the Aprilia RS 457 and Rs 1,43,727 over the KTM RC 390, which was just insane. Now with the price cut, the bike is Rs 60,100 more affordable than the Aprilia RS 457 and Rs 38,727 over the RC 390.

The Yamaha MT-03, with the price cut, has also become a much more attractive proposition in the market. It is only Rs 36,764 more expensive than its closest rival, the KTM 390 Duke. Yamaha has likely reduced the prices of both the bikes as the 2025 versions of both, the Yamaha R3 and the Yamaha MT-03, have been introduced in the international market.

The brand will likely be bringing the same to India soon, so it makes sense to clear the existing stocks of both. That said, both the bikes will be facing more competition in the coming months. We know that the Aprilia Tuono 457 is coming to India on February 17th, and it will be the perfect rival to the Yamaha MT-03.
The Yamaha R3 will also get a new competitor down the line, the 2025 KTM RC 390. The bike has been spotted testing abroad and could be coming to India by the beginning of 2026. With this increased competition, it makes sense for the brand to offer such a price cut to position themselves better in the market. Other than this price cut, both the bikes remain the same. Both are powered by the same 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine which outputs 42.0 PS at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm at 9,000rpm.
