The detailed accessory list for the Toyota Hilux pickup truck, slated for launch in March 2022, has been revealed on its official website. Mind you, the Hilux is a cool looking machine in stock form, but there are accessories which not only look cool but are functional as well. Also, and we aren’t kidding, Toyota offers an accessory for you and your occupants. And that is…
… a Tent

If these official pictures are anything to go by, the tent is mounted on top of the pickup’s canopy (an optional extra) with support stilts. Perfect for those who would like to take their pickup for a weekend outing beside a mountain or a flowing stream. But once again, it is likely that you might need to have the canopy for additional support.
Tonneau Cover
If you will be frequently carrying five occupants and luggage in your pickup truck, a tonneau cover should be on your bucket list. It is essentially a cover that covers the entire length of the bed and protects your belongings from bad weather and prying eyes.
Front Under Runner
The front under runner, or a beefy skid plate, makes the Hilux’s front-end look more beefier. Sadly, it doesn’t offer any protection, but there’s protection underneath its engine to keep all its vital components safe from bad terrain.
Rollbar
The rollbar not only makes the Hilux look cool but adds a safety net in case of an unfortunate accident. Its purpose is similar to a roll cage, which distributes the impact’s force to the chassis, preventing the body panels from collapsing.
Tyre Pressure Monitor And Air Compressor
A tyre pressure monitor is expected to be standard in a vehicle that’s going to cost Rs 40 lakh, but Toyota is like “Hey, you gotta pay for this yaaa.” The air compressor, though, is a saviour if you’re stuck in a place where the nearest puncture waala is quite some distance away. It also comes to your aid if you want to deflate the tyres while dune bashing.
Wireless Phone Charger
Yet another feature that is expected to be standard, but Toyota is making you pay for it.
Tailgate Assist
The tailgate assist is basically two hydraulic struts that smoothens the opening and closing of the Hilux’s tailgate. As standard, the SUV doesn’t get these struts and that results in the lid dropping down sharply.

To know more about the Hilux, read our detailed unveiling report. Bookings are already underway, and deliveries are expected to commence in March. The Hilux is expected to be priced above Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it significantly more expensive than the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
