Toyota India has introduced its all-black, mean-looking Hilux Black Edition in India at Rs 37.90 lakh after it was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025. The black colour adds a lot of aggression to an already capable pickup truck. No mechanical changes, but when you look this good, who cares? Let's see what the Hilux Black Edition has:

Variants

Ex-showroom Price

Toyota Hilux High AT

Rs 37.90 lakh

Toyota Hilux Black Edition (New)

Rs 37.90 lakh

The Hilux Black Edition is based on the top-end High variant of the regular Hilux, and there’s no price difference from the regular Hilux.

Exterior

The Hilux Black Edition ditches the standard chrome-heavy elements for an all-black theme. The grille, ORVMs, door handles, and side steps get the blackout treatment, giving it an intimidating look. The dark 18-inch alloy wheels complement the pickup’s muscular stance, while a little bit of chrome on the rear bumper adds just the right amount of contrast.

From the side, the wheel arches and high ground clearance ensure it retains its legendary off-road capability.

At the rear, the “TOYOTA” lettering (which is an accessory on the regular Hilux) also gets black accents. It’s aggressive but still undeniably Hilux.

Interior

Step inside, and the theme continues.

The dashboard as well as the seats continue with the all-black treatment.

The layout remains functionally rugged yet premium. If you like black, then this Hilux should be a part of your pack! Not many changes have been made to the design or features as part of this edition.

Features

Toyota hasn’t skimped on features with the Hilux Black Edition. It is offered with all the standard equipment as the regular Hilux. It is equipped with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, and analogue dials with a multi-information display (MID).

Other goodies include cruise control, a powered driver’s seat, and a six-speaker sound system, ensuring comfort on long hauls.

Safety

Toyota has ensured that the Hilux Black Edition is as safe as it is stylish.

Equipped with 7 airbags, ISOFIX mounts, front and rear parking sensors, and a rear camera, this pickup is ready for both urban commutes and off-road adventures.

Performance

Under the hood, things are familiar.

The Hilux Black Edition continues to be powered by the 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine, which churns out 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque, but the Hilux Black Edition is offered only with the 6-speed torque converter. 4x4 is offered as standard.

Price And Rivals

The Hilux Black Edition is priced at Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It continues to lock horns with the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross, which is now almost 9 years old in India and hasn’t seen much action in terms of updates.

The bookings commence today, and the customers can expect the deliveries from March 2025.

If you love pickups that are as tough as they look, the Hilux Black Edition ticks all the boxes. It’s rugged, reliable, and now looks mean, too!
