This week was a very interesting one for the two-wheeler space since we got to see a lot of new launches, some interesting rumors and more. Here are the top 5 highlights from this week.
Bajaj launched its most affordable Chetak variant, called the Bajaj Chetak 2901 and this new variant comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs 95,998 (including EMPS, which stands for Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme).Despite costing Rs 27,321 less than the Chetak Urbane variant, the Chetak 2901 offers 10km more range.
Royal Enfield applied for the trademarks two logos, one of which looks quite similar to a logo that we have seen on some variants of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. The other one, meanwhile, is a typeface logo with ‘Royal Enfield’ written in cursive. This is where we think both logos could be used.
Hero MotoCorp launched the most expensive variant of the sporty Xoom 110 scooter. The new variant comes in a special colour scheme with stylish liveries and the manufacturer claims that this colour scheme takes inspiration from fighter jets.
Kawasaki launched the Ninja ZX-4RR in India this week. The bike comes with a 399cc in-line 4 engine which produces 77PS and 39Nm, which is slightly more than the Ninja ZX-4R, which for perspective makes 75PS and 37.6Nm. But the pricing is just ridiculous and the bike is now the most expensive 400cc bike in India.
One of the most interesting happenings this week was reports saying that Honda is planning on updating the Honda CB200X. According to these reports, this update was bringing features to the bike such as a slip-and-assist clutch. But these reports had no basis and we debunked this rumor.
