Mahindra’s newly launched subcompact SUV, the XUV 3XO, made headlines when its bookings crossed 50,000 within sixty minutes. In the recent investor meeting, Mahindra also shared more details about the bookings for the XUV 3XO, including the preferred powertrain options and number of buyers that came from other segments.

Of all the bookings, the XUV 3XO attracted around 65-70 percent demand for the petrol engine options, while the rest were for diesel engine variants. Mahindra also noted that 25 percent of all orders came from first-time car buyers, while only 15 percent were from existing Mahindra owners. Additionally, 25 percent of buyers were upgrading from a hatchback to the XUV 3XO.

Mahindra also mentioned that these are early numbers, but this is what they can currently derive from the XUV 3XO bookings. The Mahindra XUV 3XO is priced between Rs 7.49 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with subcompact SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
