These safety ratings are applicable to all variants of these three SUVs
All SUVs are equipped with 6 airbags airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and a 360-degree camera
We are happy to report that not one or two but three Mahindra SUVs have aced the Bharat NCAP safety crash test by scoring full 5 stars! The three SUVs, namely, the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx and XUV400 have all impressed us by scoring 5 stars in Adult as well as Child Occupant Protection.
The XUV400 is the electric derivative of the pre-facelift XUV 3XO ( known as the XUV300) and the recently launched Thar Roxx is the 5-door version of the regular Thar. The Thar Roxx has also become the first ever body-on-frame SUV to achieve this incredible feat of scoring 5 stars in the Bharat NCAP test.

In the past, the XUV300 was tested and was rated 5 stars in the Global NCAP safety crash test. The Thar 3-door was also tested and had scored an almost perfect 4 star rating.
Here is a detailed look at their scores:
In the Adult Occupant Protection, the XUV 3XO scored 29.36 out of 32 and in the Child Occupant Protection it scored 43 out of 49. These commendable scores led to a 5 star rating in both.

In the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, the XUV 3XO scored 13.36 out of 16 and in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test it received a perfect 16 out of 16. This led to good protection in most sections for both the driver and the passenger. However, the driver only received adequate protection on the chest and feet in the frontal impact test. The left leg of the driver only had marginal protection.

In the Child Occupant Protection, it got an impressive Dynamic score of 24 out of 24.
The XUV400 scored 30.38 out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection and 43 out of 49 in the Child Occupant Protection. These impressive scores led to a 5 star rating in both.

The XUV400 14.38 scored out of 16 and and 16 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, respectively. The co-driver received good protection in all parts, while the driver had good protection in most parts, save for the chest, feet, and left leg which received adequate protection.

In the Child Occupant Protection, it scored a rather impressive Dynamic score of 24 out of 24.
Now coming to the large off-roader! The larger version of the Thar impressed us all with 5 stars in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). The reason for this score was a great rating of 31.09 out of 32 in the AOP and 45 out of 49 in the COP.

The Thar Roxx was rated 15.09 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 16 out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. The co-driver was protected well in all parts, while the driver had good protection in most parts except for the chest, feet and leg region which got adequate protection.

Its Dynamic score in the Child Occupant Protection was a perfect 24 out of 24.
All three Mahindra SUVs come with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, hill-start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Save for the XUV400, both XUV 3XO and Thar Roxx come with a 360-degree camera and level-2 ADAS features which further enhance the safety quotient.

The XUV 3XO is priced between Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the XUV400 is priced from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 19.39 lakh and the Thar Roxx’s prices range from Rs 12.99 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh.
