Luxury cars are now not a rare sight in India, and it’s great to witness them on our roads! One such carmaker is Bentley, which has now officially been taken over by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL). Bentley India, a new SAVWIPL group entity, has been officially created to oversee marketing, sales and after-sales of the renowned brand in India.
The Skoda-Volkswagen group already has top carmakers like Audi, Lamborghini, and Porsche under its umbrella. Now Bentley has joined the same space, where its India operations will be overlooked by the group from July onwards. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India will import, distribute and service Bentley vehicles nationwide. Abbey Thomas has been appointed as Bentley India’s brand director.
Bengaluru and Mumbai will be the first two cities to get the new Bentley India dealerships, followed by Delhi.
Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “Welcoming Bentley into the SAVWIPL family is a proud milestone that completes our portfolio — from the precision of German engineering to the timeless elegance and unmatched performance of British craftsmanship. India’s appetite for uncompromising luxury is growing rapidly.”

Jan Bures, Executive Director, Sales, Marketing and Digital of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, said, “It’s a proud moment for us in India to welcome Bentley into the SAVWIPL family. The ever-growing UHNI segment in India will benefit from this new association, and we, along with our new dealer partners, will ensure the best of luxury and performance for our customers.”
Bentley currently offers cars like the Bentayga, Flying Spur and Continental in India; with their prices ranging in Rs 5 crore to Rs 10 crore range depending on the model and variant you pick. That’s no small amount, but with the demand for ultra luxury cars growing, these gorgeous-looking cars do end up getting picked by some of the top businessmen or celebrities of the country.
Bentley has been a part of India’s luxury car space for over two decades now and this move will hopefully further strengthen the brand’s portfolio in India. As a result, we might eventually get to see more of the beautiful Bentleys on our roads.
