In a move that’s sure to get Mahindra loyalists buzzing, Mahindra is expected to roll out model-year updates for its crowd favourites: the Thar 3-door, Scorpio N, and XUV700. While the Thar 3-door is expected to borrow features from the Thar Roxx, the Scorpio N & XUV700 will be getting minor feature updates to keep them relevant and up to date. So, what’s cooking at Mahindra? Let’s dive in!
The rugged 3-door Mahindra Thar is due for an update and is all set to get a sprinkle of modern tech, courtesy of the Thar Roxx, its brawnier sibling. While its iconic design will remain majorly untouched (because why fix what’s not broken?), the 2025 Thar could finally pack the upgrades it needed.

Expected updates include a big 10.25-inch touchscreen for all your infotainment needs, paired with a sharp 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Ventilated front seats to keep you cool, while auto AC and a wireless phone charger add extra convenience. On the safety side, the Thar 3-door could get 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera for tricky spots, and Level 2 ADAS to make your adventures safer and smarter.
Under the hood, Mahindra seems to be sticking to the tried-and-tested powertrain lineup. Here’s a quick refresher:

Expect the updated Thar to start turning heads (even more than it already does) sometime in 2025.
Mahindra isn’t stopping with just the Thar; the Scorpio N and XUV700 are also in line for exciting feature upgrades in 2025. These updates aim to make two already impressive SUVs even more appealing to tech-savvy and comfort-loving buyers.
The Scorpio N, already known for its premium features like an 8-inch touchscreen, dual-zone AC, and a powered driver’s seat, might soon pack in even more punch. Expected updates include a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS for added safety and convenience. With these upgrades, the MY25 Scorpio N is expected to be a well-loaded product.

As for the already loaded-to-the-brim XUV700, it could be adding an augmented reality-based heads-up display, and a chance to rejoice for audiophiles, a next-gen 1400 W, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system could also be introduced.

While both SUVs are gaining on features, the engines are expected to remain unchanged. Here’s a quick glance:

With all these exciting updates on the horizon, a price hike seems almost inevitable. Currently, the Mahindra Thar is priced between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 17.60 lakh, the Scorpio N ranges from Rs 13.85 lakh to Rs 24.54 lakh, and the XUV700 is available from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 26.04 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). While these SUVs already offer great value, the upcoming upgrades are sure to add even more appeal — though likely at a slightly higher cost.
With these updates, Mahindra is clearly gearing up to make life difficult for the competition.
The question is: what features do you want to see on these SUVs? A sunroof for the Thar? A pick-up option for the Scorpio N? Let us know in the comments!
