Hot off the back of Mahindra releasing the introductory prices of the Scorpio N’s automatic and four-wheel drive (4WD) variants, the carmaker has revealed that customer deliveries will commence on September 26. Going deeper into the delivery timelines, the top-spec Z8L will take priority owing to customer demand. Also, only 20,000 units are targeted to be delivered this year.
Before all the delivery action kicks off, bookings will open on July 30 from 11am onwards. Test drives are already underway across the country. The Mahindra Scorpio N’s introductory prices range from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 23.90 lakh (ex-showroom), but they’ll only be applicable for the first 25,000 bookings. To pre-select your ideal combination of the Scorpio N in advance, there’s an ‘Add to Cart’ function on Mahindra’s official website.
Offered in the Z2, Z4, Z6, and Z8 trims, The Scorpio N gets a larger, more mature design and is loaded with features including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, 12-speaker Sony sound system, wireless phone charger, and connected car tech with Alexa.
Under the hood, you get the option of 203PS 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre 132PS and 175PS diesel engines. 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options are available in both petrol and 175PS diesel guises. A 4WD option is limited to the 175PS diesel engine.
Considering its price range, the Mahindra Scorpio N will compete with the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. Do note that Mahindra will keep its predecessor alive, but it will now be called the Scorpio Classic.
