If you’re a Mahindra Scorpio N fan who loves to venture into the wild, this one's for you. Mahindra has introduced the Scorpio N Adventure Edition, based on the Z8 variant, in South Africa at 644,499 South African Rand (Rs 29.59 lakh). The off-road spec model comes with some purposeful modifications done to amplify its off-road capabilities. Let's take a closer look at all that has been added to enhance its off-roading prowess.

But before that, here’s a look at how much premium it commands over the standard Z8 variant:
|
Variant |
Z8 4x2 |
Z8 4x4 |
Z8L 4x4 |
Z8 4x4 Adventure |
|
Price |
ZAR 523,199 |
ZAR 573,199 (Rs 26.30 lakh) |
ZAR 608,199 |
ZAR 644,499 |
According to the table above, the Adventure variant commands ZAR 36300 (Ra 1.69 lakh) over the top-spec Z8L variant.

Exterior alterations include off-road specific steel bumpers (front and rear) with a winch and recovery hooks at the front. These bumpers further help in giving the Scorpio N better approach and departure angles while traversing through inclines. Furthermore, it gets better underbody protection with skid plates and belly plates.

The overall side body claddings and thick over fenders on wheel arches are powder coated. The suspensions have been raised for better ground clearance and it now accommodates a larger set of 265/60 all-terrain tyres with bespoke rims. Additionally it is equipped with a roof rack which further adds to its practicality and gives the Scorpio N Adventure a purpose-built stance.

No changes have been made to its interior design or layout, but there is a luggage rack that is now present over the second row seats.
The Mahindra Scorpio N Adventure is based on the Z8 4x4 AT variant and is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine producing 175 PS and 400 Nm mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

It is yet to be seen if this Adventure edition makes its way to India, but we hope it is present to satisfy the Scorpio N fans who love to venture in the wild. In India, the Scorpio N is priced from Rs 13.85 lakh (ex-showroom), making it as a body-on-frame SUV alternative to the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Tata Safari, MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar.
