Not much sets it apart from its Indian compatriot, though

Sundiro Honda, the brand’s Chinese partner, has showcased the 2023 iteration of the CBF190R. However, the latest model gets just a few updated decals, and stays mechanically unchanged as well.

So, the 2023 CBF190R continues with its sharp design, its tank extensions giving it a muscular look, more so than its Indian cousin, the Honda Hornet 2.0.  However, its swept-back headlight somewhat resembles that of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

The CBF190R uses the exact same engine as the Hornet 2.0, though with a completely different performance profile. While the torque (16.3Nm at 8000rpm) is marginally (0.2Nm) more and comes in 2,000 revs later, the power output (16.86PS at 8000rpm) is 0.4PS less but comes in 500 revs sooner. That said, both bikes weigh an identical 142kg (kerb).

The cycle parts and features set on both bikes are also the same. So just like the Hornet 2.0, the CBF190R also gets a USD fork and monoshock, disc brakes front and rear with single-channel ABS, LED lighting all around and an LCD instrument console sans smartphone connectivity.

Prices for the CBF190R start at the INR equivalent of Rs 1.91 lakh (excluding taxes), significantly more than its Indian counterpart, which retails at Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom). Ultimately, though, the chances of Honda launching the CBF190R in India are extremely slim. Though if you’re looking for an entry-level naked sportster, and the Hornet 2.0 doesn’t catch your fancy, you could also check out the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
