The Keeway SR125 has been spotted at an Indian dealership, suggesting the launch of the retro street bike here. On its arrival in India, Keeway announced that it would launch eight two-wheelers this year, including a 125cc retro street bike, and the SR125 fits that bill perfectly.

First things first. The Keeway SR125 looks interesting – more like a custom Yamaha RX100 with a scrambler-esque twist. It sports a simple, retro fuel tank with knee recesses and an old-school fuel filler cap. 

The circular headlight, taillights and turn indicators add to the classic look with a circular design. It also features a single-piece ribbed seat with a retro-style long grab rail.

While the specifications of the SR125 are under wraps, we know that it gets a 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. In terms of output figures, it could make around 10PS and 8.9Nm, similar to what the 125cc international bikes under Qianjiang motors make.

The suspension setup looks run-of-the-mill with a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. However, the braking hardware is pretty premium for a 125cc motorcycle including discs at both ends with single channel ABS.

The most interesting bit is that it rolls on chunky dual-purpose tyres wrapped on spoked wheels. So is it offroad friendly? Well, the suspension travel will be the deciding factor.

It gets a fully digital instrument console; although, what it indicates is still under wraps.

Now that you have more or less an idea of what this bike is, would you want it to launch in India? Considering Keeway’s pricing, it could cost around Rs 2.10 lakh ex-showroom. This is a rather heavy ask for what essentially is a 125cc commuter bike.
