A potent 500cc parallel-twin engine, tubeless spoked wheels, and a design that makes your heart skip a beat - the Storr certainly seems promising

EXCLUSIVE: Upcoming Brixton Crossfire 500 Storr Spied In India, Honda NX500 Rival

Quick Read:

  • The Brixton Crossfire 500 Storr has been spied testing in India

  • Gets the same engine (and same output figures too) as the other 500cc Brixton motorcycles

  • Expected to be launched in India sometime later this year

The Brixton Crossfire 500 Storr has been spotted testing in India, and boy, oh boy, does it look lip-smackingly good! First unveiled at the 2024 EICMA show in its production avatar, the Storr looks quite promising, but does it have what it takes to hold its own against the current and upcoming rivals? Let’s have a look:

Unlike Anything Else

From the spy shots, the Brixton Crossfire 500 Storr appears to have a good balance of elegance and purpose-built looks. The design is unlike anything we have seen before on any motorcycle sold in India, but if we go global, the Storr looks eerily similar to the Husqvarna Norden 901. Imitation is the best form of flattery, and we aren’t complaining!

Powered by the same 486cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine as the Brixton Crossfire X and Crossfire XC, which makes 47.6PS and 43Nm, the Storr looks quite solid on paper. With a 19/17-inch cross-spoke tubeless wheel setup fitted with dual-purpose tyres, the Storr will be able to take on rough roads without breaking much sweat.

Competition And Price-Check

The Benelli TRK 502 was the only 500cc parallel-twin adventure bike in India for a long time, up until the Honda CB500X came into the picture. The CB500X was then rebadged to NX500, along with a massive price ‘correction’ (read price drop). At Rs 5.90 lakh, it offers great value for money, especially when you compare it with the Benelli TRK502’s more premium 6.2 lakh-rupee price tag (both ex-showroom Delhi). Brixton has its work cut out when it comes to pricing as it will have to undercut the NX500 considerably to make a dent in the 500cc ADV segment in India.

If Brixton manages to price the bike at around Rs 5.5-5.6 lakh (ex-showroom), it will certainly have a promising product on its hand, but the brand will also have to substantially expand its dealer network. It currently has presence only in five states in India, and the company will also have to pull all stops to increase the brand awareness as not many may have heard of Brixton. As for the launch timeline, a 2025-end seems realistic, giving the brand enough buffer to test and also expand its dealership network. If our guesstimate is correct, it will be around the same time when CFMoto launches its parallel-twin ADV, the 450MT in India. Exciting times for ADV enthusiasts, isn’t it?
