Citroen has launched the Basalt Dark Edition on our shores, with prices starting at Rs 12.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The Dark Edition is only available with the top-spec variants giving buyers the complete premium experience. Over the regular model, it comes at a premium of up to Rs 23,000 and brings in cosmetic enhancements to the exterior and interior making the SUV look stealthy in the new black shade!
So if you are in the market looking for an exclusive and dapper looking SUV, then here’s our detailed image gallery of the Basalt Dark Edition:
The Basalt Dark Edition sports the Perla Nera black shade on the exterior, which will also be made available with the regular Basalt. However, there are exclusive blacked-out elements that you get with the Dark Edition. It sports a dark chrome grille, and Citroen logos which add to the appeal. Furthermore, it also gets black treatment on the bumper.
There are subtle red inserts throughout the body, adding a sporty touch. The 16-inch alloy wheels come in the standard dualtone finish, but you do get black door handles and black side body cladding.
There is 'Dark Edition' badging on the front door which denotes the exclusivity. The overall silhouette and design elements remain identical to the standard model.
The Basalt Dark Edition sports an all-black theme with red stitching on the leatherette seats. To complement the black theme, there are silver inserts splashed across the dashboard to give contrast. The layout and design of the dashboard is the same as the standard model, but the sportier dark theme gives the Basalt Dark Edition a slightly unique look.
The black leatherette seats have “Dark Edition” embossed on them, and you also get “Citroen” badging on the seatbelts.
The Citroen Basalt Dark Edition comes equipped with multi-colour ambient lighting, which is otherwise offered as an accessory with the standard model. Other features that have been carried over from the top-spec Basalt include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, and steering-mounted audio controls.
In terms of passenger safety, it comes with 6 airbags, ESC, ABS with EBD, a rear parking camera with parking sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
