After over two years of its introduction, Tata Motors will launch the automatic variants of the Altroz, dubbed the Altroz DCA, on March 21. Official bookings are underway, and the dual-clutch automatic will be limited to three trims: XT, XZ and XZ+. Plus, there will be a new Opel Blue body colour on offer.
The Altroz’ 6-speed dual-clutch automatic, a first for any Tata car, will be paired with the 86PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Please note that the 5-speed manual ‘box will be sold alongside as well.
Also, in contrast with our earlier reports, we can now confirm that the DCT won’t be offered with the 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. We believe this has been done to keep costs in check.
The Tata Altroz can be had with a 90PS 1.5-litre diesel engine as well.

There won’t be any changes to the Altroz’ design or features. The hatchback packs a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, a semi-digital instrument cluster, cruise control, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, and keyless entry with push-button start.
Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a parking camera. To jog your memory, the Altroz secured an impressive five stars in the Global NCAP safety test back in January 2020.

The Tata Altroz DCT is expected to command a premium of around a lakh over the standard petrol variants, which are priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 8.8 lakh. It will lock horns with the Hyundai i20 DCT, Maruti Suzuki Baleno / Toyota Glanza AMT, and the Honda Jazz CVT.
