One is a sleek streetfighter, the other a muscular cruiser

Adishwar Auto Ride’s arsenal of manufacturers has witnessed the addition of another name: MBP. MBP, short for Moto Bologna Passione, is an Italian brand that sells alongside Keeway bikes in Europe. This new bike brand will in fact, be sold through Benelli and Keeway dealerships in India. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

As we reported in our exclusive story earlier, MBP has kick-started its Indian innings with the M502N, a 486cc, twin-cylinder naked bike that is eerily similar to the Honda CB500F in terms of the engine. It churns out a healthy 51.6PS and 45Nm. We hope its engine tune is also similar to that of the 500cc Honda bike. Other interesting bits include light-sensitive LED projectors (that switch on and off automatically, depending on the ambient lighting) along with backlit handlebar controls.

There are dual 300mm discs at the front and a 240mm one at the rear handling braking duties along with the added safety net of dual-channel ABS.

Accompanying it is the C1002V, a muscular cruiser that the company teased earlier, which packs Harley-Davidson Nightrod-inspired styling. Underneath the sexy bodywork, it’s a 997cc liquid-cooled V-twin mill making 95PS and 102Nm, paired to a six-speed gearbox. You get two 320mm disc brakes at the front and a 300mm one at the rear, with 18-inch wheels wrapped with fat 130- and 240-section tyres at the front and rear respectively.

An interesting bit on this cruiser is that its passenger seat can double up as a backrest for the rider. Both bikes come with IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity as standard, that gives the rider access to a whole bunch of features including remote shutdown, panic button, trip history and ride telemetry. It even has movement sensors to deter thefts. While the brand hasn’t revealed prices for the bikes, we think the M502N could be priced around the Rs 5 lakh mark. The C1002V, on the other hand, could carry a Rs 12 lakh (both ex-showroom) price tag.
