April is shaping up to be a very important month for many carmakers and even for customers!

Cars Launching In April

The month of April marks the beginning of the second quarter of the year, and many car makers seem ready with their new products to be launched in the Indian market. This month brings in a variety of different cars spread across a wide price range, which means there is something available for each type of buyer. April 2026 will see a mix of both facelifted and completely new models, while some cars will also have their powertrain lineup updated. The list of cars includes both ICE and EV models, giving all types of buyers a wide range of cars to choose from.

Let's have a look at these new upcoming models that are expected to hit the roads this month:

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

Expected Price: Rs 11 lakh to 19 lakh (ex-showroom)

Volkswagen is all set to introduce the Taigun facelift on 9th April 2026. A lot of test mules have been spotted in the final stage of testing, which suggests that the new model might feature subtle changes to the exterior styling, including a new front fascia featuring a redesigned bumper, a new slimmer grille, and new connected LED headlights with an illuminated VW logo. It will get a new design for the alloy wheel as well. On the inside, the overall dashboard layout might remain the same, but it should get some new features and an updated interior theme. The Taigun facelift is expected to borrow some of its features, like rear massaging seats, a new digital instrument cluster, and a panoramic sunroof, from the recently launched Skoda Kushaq facelift that is based on the same platform.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

Powering the Taigun would be the same two turbo petrol engines as the pre-facelift model. Although what could be new is an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for the 1-litre TSI engine. The 1.5-litre TSI engine should continue to be offered with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

MG Hector Diesel

Expected Price: Rs 13.5 lakh to 21 lakh (ex-showroom)

MG had refreshed the Hector late last year with refreshed exterior styling and an updated cabin with a new interior theme and some new features as well. While the Hector facelift offered everything that felt missing, what came as a surprise was that MG did not launch the diesel powertrain at the time. The Hector has always had a diesel engine, ever since its first launch in 2019. MG is expected to reveal the prices of the diesel engine Hector this month, giving its loyal customer base the engine they have been missing. The Hector is expected to continue using the same 2-litre diesel engine as the pre-facelift version, which will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Key features on the 2026 MG Hector include a 14-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment screen with MG’s iSwipe touch gesture control technology, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, front powered and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, and ambient lighting.

Nissan Gravite CNG

Expected Price: Rs 6 lakh to 8 lakh (ex-showroom)

Nissan had launched the Gravite earlier this year as its new sub-4 metre 7-seater MPV. The Gravite is based on the Renault Triber, meaning the Gravite is a result of the badge-engineering as part of the Nissan-Renault partnership. The Gravite has helped Nissan to expand its portfolio in India, giving customers a wider range of cars to choose from.

Nissan Gravite

At the time of launch, Nissan had offered the Gravite with a sole 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, but a dealer-fitted CNG kit is expected to make way in the Gravite this month. Once the CNG kit is offered, the Gravite will help to provide more efficiency, which will appeal to buyers who want a budget-friendly 7-seater MPV with good efficiency and a decent list of features which include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, front and rear parking sensors, 6 airbags, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charger and cruise control.

MG Majestor

Expected Price: Rs 50 lakh to 52 lakh (ex-showroom)

The Majestor is MG’s answer to the premium D-SUV segment, taking on cars like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and the new Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. The Majestor was revealed earlier this year, and it sits above the Gloster as a more premium offering. MG is expected to launch the Majestor in India this month. The Majestor brings with it a rugged and muscular exterior design with a commanding stance, outstanding off-road capabilities, and modern features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital driver's display, panoramic sunroof, a 12-speaker sound system, 10 off-road modes, terrain modes, a steering column-mounted gear shifter and powered front seats with ventilation and massaging function.

MG Majestor

Powering the MG Majestor is a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine making 215 PS of power and 478 Nm of torque, which is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and can also be had with an optional four-wheel drive system. It also comes equipped with triple differential locks and up to 810mm of water wading depth as well for enhanced off-road capabilities.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Expected Price: Rs 16 lakh to 20.5 lakh (ex-showroom)

Toyota had started 2026 by revealing its first EV for the Indian market, by the name of Urban Cruiser Ebella. While it has been quite a long time since its reveal, we expect the price reveal and launch of the EV to take place any time this month.

The Urban Cruiser Ebella is a rebadged version of the Maruti e Vitara, which was launched in the Indian market a few months back, and hence both cars share their platform, battery packs, and features. What’s different, though, is their visual appearance. You can have a detailed look at the Urban Cruiser Ebella’s exterior and interior here

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

The Urban Cruiser Ebella EV will be offered with two battery pack options in India: a 49 kWh battery pack and a 61 kWh battery pack with up to 543 km of claimed range figures. This will be paired to a single electric motor putting out up to 174 PS and 189 Nm of torque. The global model does offer an all-wheel-drive setup, but the Indian specification is limited to a front-wheel drive drivetrain.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric

Expected Price: Rs 65 lakh to 70 lakh (ex-showroom)

The all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric is expected to make its India debut in April 2026, marking Mercedes-Benz’s push to strengthen its entry-level EV portfolio while replacing certain ICE models and older EQ offerings. Slated for a mid-April launch, this sleek four-door coupe sedan blends traditional Mercedes styling with futuristic EV cues such as a star-studded illuminated grille, flush door handles, and a full-width LED light setup. Inside, it’s a proper tech showcase, featuring a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment with Google-based navigation, a ChatGPT-powered AI assistant, 64-colour ambient lighting, and a feature-rich cabin complemented by ADAS and a 360-degree camera.

Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric

Powering the CLA Electric is an 85.5 kWh battery pack paired with a single motor, which offers a WLTP-claimed range of up to 792 kms and puts out 272 PS and 335 Nm. With the real-life driving range close to 700 kms and 240kW DC fast charging capabilities, the CLA Electric might just be one of the longest-range and quickest-charging EVs on sale in India. Lexus ES350h Hybrid

Expected Price: Rs 70 lakh to 75 lakh (ex-showroom)

Lexus had launched the ES500e fully electric sedan in India last month, and for April, Lexus seems to be gearing up for the launch of the ES350h hybrid version. The new ES is already in pictures now, and what we do know is that the car is bigger in dimensions than its predecessor. Speaking of the exterior design, the ES350h carries a sophisticated design that does not scream modernisation but rather looks very sleek, pleasing, and elegant. On the inside, the dashboard carries a minimalistic theme with a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a fully digital driver’s display. The main highlight would be the rear seat experience, where you get loads and loads of space with maximised comfort, which you would expect in a luxury sedan.

Lexus ES

Powering the Lexus ES350h would be a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol strong-hybrid engine, which will be mated to an e-CVT transmission. Buyers would also get the opportunity to choose from a Front Wheel Drive or an all-wheel drive drivetrain.

VinFast VF MPV 7

Expected Price: Rs 20 lakh to 30 lakh (ex-showroom)

In a surprising move, the latest EV maker in India, VinFast has now confirmed that it will be launching the VF MPV 7 later this month. Blending in the carmaker’s signature edgy and sharp styling cues along with the space and practicality of an MPV, this model will fill a niche between the Kia Carens Clavis EV and BYD eMAX 7. Inside, it retains the minimal theme with a large touchscreen controlling most of the functions and a spacious three-row layout. Its feature highlights will likely include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multiple drive modes, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control and wireless phone charger.

VinFast VF MPV 7

Powering the VF MPV 7 would be a 60.13 kWh battery pack with up to 450 km of NEDC-claimed range. This will be paired to an electric motor putting out 201 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque through a front-wheel drive layout.
