2026 Lexus ES: Exterior
The new ES takes strong design inspiration from the LF-ZC concept in terms of its design language. Up front, it features a sharp DRL and turn indicator setup, beneath which sit the car’s headlights. It gets a blanked-off grille, which is separated by the license plate area, while the electric ES omits the upper grille for a cleaner look and improved aerodynamics.

In profile, the ES has a sharp shoulder line that flows into the C-pillar. It features flush-fitting door handles and a distinct styling element on the front door with a sharp aero vent lending it an unconventional, yet sporty look. You also have the 21-inch alloy wheels which add a lot of class.

At the rear, there is a pair of sleek, wraparound LED tail-lights connected by a light bar, which also houses an illuminated Lexus badge in the centre.

In terms of dimensions, the new ES has grown and compared to its predecessor, it is 165mm longer, 55mm wider and between 110mm and 115mm taller. The wheelbase is also 80mm longer at 2,950mm, which should translate to a more spacious cabin. The India-spec ES also gets 20mm higher ground clearance to tackle our road conditions
2026 Lexus ES: Interior
Inside, the new ES continues with a minimalist theme and high-quality materials. The dashboard features a flat and layered look, and most controls for interior have been moved to the massive touchscreen infotainment in the middle except the climate controls which are positioned just below it.

The centre console has been kept simple as well, with just a stubby gear shifter, cupholders and a centre armrest.

As before, the highlight of the new ES continues to be the rear seat experience, which now features an ottoman setup with a calf rest for occupants. The backrest can also recline electronically and there are plush headrests to enhance the comfort.
2026 Lexus ES: Features & Safety
On the features front, the ES offers wireless charging, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, and front seats with a ‘boss mode’ that allows the rear passenger to adjust the front passenger seat.
In terms of safety, the ES comes equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, 10 airbags, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.
2025 Lexus ES: Powertrain

2026 Lexus ES: Rivals
The Lexus ES350h will compete with luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 5 Series, while the ES500e goes up against EVs like the Kia EV6 and BYD Seal.

ZigSays…
The new ES is here, and for the first time in an all-electric avatar! With sedans going out of fashion off-late, it comes across as a positive development for those few buyers who still want to opt for one. The ES500e is also very well-equipped and is sure to offer a unique experience to buyers.
