Hyundai is known for providing value to its customers, not just with the top-spec variants but across the lineup. For the popular i20, the Korean marque has now introduced a new Magna Executive trim which retails at Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom), making certain features more accessible. Moreover, Hyundai has also updated its other variants and is offering an accessory package that includes some of the premium features. So, what are all the updates? And how will it benefit you? Let’s find out:
The i20’s new Magna Executive variant is positioned above the entry-level Era variant and below the Magna trim. The Magna Executive comes with safety features such as 6 standard airbags, ESC and VSM and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), thereby providing buyers the necessary safety equipment at more affordable prices.
Furthermore, the lower mid-spec Magna variant is now more feature-rich with the addition of the crowd-favourite sunroof, which will surely attract some buyers!
The Sportz (O) variant now comes with a bunch of premium features, including a smart key with push button start stop, a sunroof and a premium 7-speaker Bose sound system.

Hyundai is also offering a 10-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a reverse parking camera as a genuine accessory, available at Rs 15,000 with a 3-year warranty. A good move, as buyers opting for the lower-spec variants won’t have to depend on aftermarket sources.
While there are no mechanical upgrades, Hyundai has made the CVT gearbox more accessible. The automatic transmission was earlier offered from the Sportz variant onwards, but is now available with the lower-spec Magna trim.
The CVT is paired with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, which makes up to 88 PS and 114 Nm with the automatic option.
The Hyundai i20 is priced from Rs 7.04 lakh to Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with other premium hatchbacks like Toyota Glanza, Maruti Baleno, and the upcoming 2025 Tata Altroz facelift.
For around Rs 7.5 to Rs 10 lakh, the new and updated variants offer more value to buyers shopping for a premium hatchback. The demand for a sunroof and an automatic option at affordable pricing was always there, and Hyundai has delivered just that. This move will also help the i20 stay more relevant in the market, and make those waiting for the Altroz facelift possibly reconsider their decision.
