After a lot of speculations, rumours, and waiting, Skoda India’s new brand director, Ashish Gupta, formally confirmed that the enthusiast favourite Skoda Octavia RS is coming back to India.
This time it's sharper, faster, and more exclusive than ever before. Mark your calendar, cause there are…
Skoda isn't kidding around with volume here. The Octavia RS is arriving as a completely built unit (CBU), and there are just 100 units reserved for India for this calendar year. That's both thrilling and infuriating.

Thrilling, because it makes the car super-exclusive.
Infuriating, because the majority of enthusiasts who would like one might not even stand a chance. Think of it more as a collector's drop than a regular launch.
The RS has never been about more aggression tacked on top of the Octavia's clean, subdued lines. The 2025 model does not do this any less well, the blacked-out butterfly grille sporting the RS badge, the dual-pod matrix LED headlamps with V-shaped DRLs, and aero-styled 18-inch dual-tone alloys that provide just enough sportiness mixed with sophistication.

Wraparound LED tail lamps and understated performance elements ensure folks realise it's not your run-of-the-mill executive sedan.
Honestly, the Octavia RS is a car which could collect your children from school on weekdays and frighten hot hatches on weekends.
The cabin shares the same message, sporting, but not forgetting comforts. There is an all-black interior with red trim, sports seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and metallic pedals to remind you it's an RS.

You're then spoiled with elements such as a 13-inch touchscreen, a 10-inch digital driver's display, heated/powered seats, ambient lighting, and a premium sound system.
Yes, it's fast, but it's also got its head screwed on tight. You're getting multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), an auto hold with electronic parking brake, and even the potential for ADAS features.

For a car that'll tempt you to go flat out, these are more than just nice-to-haves; they're must-haves.
What’s under the hood? A 2-litre turbo-petrol engine. With 265 PS and 370 Nm, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, it rockets from 0-100 kmph in just 6.4 seconds before being electronically limited to 250 kmph.

On paper, that’s everything you’d want from a proper RS. On the highway, it's the type of powertrain that'll spend all day cruising at urban speeds, but the instant you catch an open section, it'll remind you why you shelled out the big money.
Skoda is expected to price the Octavia RS at around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom). That’s premium, yes, but remember you’re getting exclusivity and a fully imported car. At that price, it’s not just about beating rivals like the Audi A4, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, and Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine; it’s about offering a sedan that feels more alive than all of them.
The Octavia RS has traditionally been a car for those who desired a bit more drama in their daily commute without sacrificing practicality. This new RS follows the same formula, but one that is more premium and collector-oriented.
Yes, Rs 45 lakh expected pricing might sound extravagant, and yes, only 100 units is a bit cruel, but for the ones fortunate enough to get their hands on one, this will be a sedan every rupee of which will be worth it.
Pre-bookings open on 6th October, they can be booked exclusively online from anywhere, and the price announcement is slated for 17th October with deliveries to begin by 6th November.
Were you able to get Coldplay tickets? If yes, then you might be able to get one then!
