Just an year after entering motocross, Ducati has introduced the Desmo450 MX Factory, a more focused and competition-ready version of its first-ever MX bike. Built for riders who plan to race straight out of the Factory – this version is lighter, better equipped, and offers more adjustability than the standard (if you can even call it that) bike.
Weight drops to 104kg without fuel, 0.8kg less than the standard bike, mainly thanks to a full Akrapovič titanium exhaust that saves 1.7kg. Power remains 63.5PS at 9,400rpm and 53.5Nm at 7,500rpm, with a high 11,900rpm rev limit. Around 70 percent of peak torque is available from as low as 4,200rpm.

The 449.6cc single-cylinder engine uses Ducati’s Desmodromic valve system. This allows aggressive valve timing, and higher revs – without relying on valve springs. It gets a new engine mapping that improves torque between 4,000-7,500rpm.
The aluminium perimeter frame is unchanged and weighs only 8.95kg. Suspension is where the Factory version makes its biggest gains, with fully adjustable Showa components. The 49mm fork offers 310mm of wheel travel, while the monoshock provides 301mm. Protection parts like a skid plate and front disc guard are fitted from the factory, along with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 knobbies.

It gets electronics like traction control, launch control, engine brake control, bi-directional quickshifter, and 2 riding modes – all adjustable via the X-Link app using the built-in Wi-Fi module.
For India, the Desmo450 MX Factory is more than just a global showcase model. Off-road racing has been part of the country’s motorsport culture for over 35-40 years. And, the Desmo450 MX’s appearance at the final round of the ISRL (Indian Supercross Racing League) 2025 in Kochi signals Ducati’s intent to engage seriously with India’s motocross scene.
