Suzuki Motor Corp’s president has said that the eVX will be rolled out from its Gujarat plant by the end of 2024

It looks like the Maruti Suzuki eVX’s Indian debut has been advanced as it has now been confirmed that the carmaker will take the wraps off its first-ever electric vehicle by the end of 2024. Toshihiro Suzuki, President, Suzuki Motor Corp, Japan, has said at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 that the model will be rolled out from Suzuki’s plant by this year-end.

Speaking at the event, Suzuki said, “The first battery electric vehicle from Suzuki Global will be rolled out from Suzuki Motor Gujarat by the end of this year. We plan to sell this model not only in India, but export to Japan and European countries.”

Another point to note is that this model will be built in India and exported to international markets, with a locally sourced powertrain and battery pack. Considering that the main components of the eVX will be made here, you can expect it to have a competitive price tag

The Maruti Suzuki eVX’ launch being fast-forwarded is great news for those looking to pick up an EV. Given Maruti Suzuki’s widespread service and sales network and the eVX being the first battery electric model from India’s largest carmaker, this could be the car that finally gives Tata, who currently rules the EV space in India, something to think about.

We expect the Maruti Suzuki eVX to be priced from just under Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
