The Tata Curvv EV is the latest electric vehicle in the Tata Motors stable, sitting alongside the Nexon EV and Punch EV. While we’ve already pitched the Nexon EV against the only Indian electric SUV alternative, the XUV400, the performance comparison with the Curvv EV was still pending.
So in this story, we compare the two Indian electric vehicles to find out which one is quicker in the real-world. A quick look at the specifications before the real deal:

Both cars get the option of two battery packs, but both the options of the Curvv EV are bigger than what you get with the XUV400.
Our performance test was done with the top-spec bigger battery pack variants, in which the Curvv EV has the higher power output figure.
However, it is the XUV400 that has the bragging rights in terms of the torque output, which also results in a quicker claimed 0-100kmph time. But what’s the story going to be like in the real-world? Let’s find out:

While both the cars couldn’t replicate their claimed times, the difference in their on-paper performance test translated and slightly extended in the real world. XUV400 takes the win by less than half a second, and the similar story repeats in the quarter mile test. However, the Curvv EV is clocked at a higher quarter mile speed, likely owing to its additional power.

Surprisingly, both were evenly matched in the braking test and stopped in a distance of 42.61 metres.
