With year-end approaching, Tata Motors has given a small update to the Curvv and Curvv EV lineup with added features and enhancements, especially for rear seat passengers. The added features also come with a price hike, with the Curvv now starting from Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Curvv EV can be had from Rs 18.49 lakh (ex-showroom). So let’s take a look at what Tata has in store for us:
Starting off with the Curvv, Tata has given it more features, primarily to enhance the comfort of rear seat occupants. This includes a new passive ventilated rear seat, rear sunshades, dual-zone climate control, and cupholders on the rear centre armrests. Along with these updates, Tata has also given the interior theme a makeover with the introduction of a ‘Lalitpur Grey’ leatherette upholstery, while the dashboard also gets a white carbon-fibre finish insert. Fancy a Curvv Dark Edition?

Besides this, the Curvv remains as before and the equipment list still includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, ambient lighting, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ventilated front seats, cruise control and a 9-speaker JBL sound system.

In terms of safety it is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Curvv gets a choice of three engines, the specifications of which are below. Here are its detailed engine specifications:

Coming to the Curvv EV, it follows a similar pattern as the Curvv and adds features like the passive ventilated rear seat, rear sunshades, dual-zone climate control, and cupholders on the rear centre armrests. But it also goes one step further with new headrests at the rear and even footrests for the front and rear passengers.

Otherwise, the Curvv EV’s feature list remains unchanged and includes equipment such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, connected car tech, and 9-speaker JBL sound system. Safety-wise, it gets a Level 2 ADAS suite, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera with front and rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

Under the hood, it gets an option of 45kWh and 55kWh battery packs with up to 502 Km of claimed range. Read here about the real-life range of the Curvv EV. Here are the specifications of both the powertrains:

Launched with big expectations, so far the Curvv has seen a steady decline in sales compared to the rest of its rivals in the Compact SUV segment. But we feel this new update, while bringing some useful features, does little to help the Curvv stand up in the front of other strong players in the segment. What would make its life more difficult are its own siblings, the Sierra and Sierra EV, both of which are scheduled to launch by the end of this year.
Would you pick the updated Curvv or Curvv EV over its rivals? Let us know in the comments below.
