Launched at an introductory price of Rs 17.99 lakh
Available in multiple variants to suit a variety of needs and budgets, just like its ICE sibling.
Looks familiar, but fresher, carries over the same design language as the regular Clavis.
Inside, things are similar too, with a clean dashboard layout, complete with dual screens and a two-spoke steering wheel.
Feature-rich cabin with twin 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats, comfort and tech sorted.
Two battery options, with the larger pack claiming up to 490 km of range, enough to keep range anxiety at bay.
What happens when an MPV goes electric? You get the 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV, practical, spacious, and now with zero tailpipe emissions. Kia’s finally pulled the wraps off its first mass-market electric car in India, and it’s priced from Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With up to 490 km of claimed range and two battery options, this isn’t just a step into the electric era, it’s a proper leap. Bookings open from July 22.
Here’s what it packs:
The Carens Clavis EV will be available in multiple variants with two battery pack options: a smaller 42 kWh and a long-range 51.4 kWh unit. The variants are expected to mirror what we’ve seen in Kia’s ICE offerings, but with some EV-exclusive goodies. Here are the variant-wise prices:

At first glance, the Carens Clavis EV might look like its ICE sibling, and that’s no accident. Kia’s gone for a “don’t-fix-what-ain’t-broke” strategy but added just enough flair to make this EV feel special. You’ll spot a blanked-off grille (classic EV move), sleek LED DRLs with a connecting light bar, and a reworked bumper that’s more aero-friendly.

The aero-style alloys look snazzy and aren’t just for show; they’re meant to eke out every last kilometre of range. The charging port is up front, neatly tucked in below the grille. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps and a subtly reworked bumper complete the look.

Step inside, and it’s familiar territory. The dashboard layout mirrors the standard Carens with its dual-screen setup and clean design. But thanks to the EV layout, you get extra storage where the transmission tunnel used to be.
And unlike the ICE version, where you can pick between 6 and 7-seater layouts, the EV is strictly a 7-seater, with more seats, fewer emissions.

Step inside the Carens Clavis EV, and you're greeted by a cabin that feels tech-savvy without being overwhelming. Taking centre stage are the twin 12.3-inch displays, one for infotainment and the other serving up your driving stats with crisp clarity.
The feature list is generous and well-thought-out: a panoramic sunroof to let the light in, ventilated front seats to keep you cool, and a premium Bose 8-speaker sound system for those long drives.
There’s also wireless phone charging, a powered driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting to set the mood just right.

And if you’re the kind who likes a little extra peace of mind, there’s Level 2 ADAS onboard, yes, it can handle some of the driving for you.
Safety kit includes six airbags, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and even an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. Basically, it’s loaded.
The Carens Clavis EV is offered with two battery pack options, each catering to a different kind of EV user.

The 42 kWh pack is perfect for everyday city use, where efficiency matters more than outright range. But if you’re planning longer hauls, the larger 51.4 kWh battery is the one to go for. Kia claims it can take you up to 490 km on a single charge. Fast charging? Absolutely. Plug it into a fast charger and it’ll juice up from 10 to 80 percent in under 39 minutes (with a 100 kW charger).

When it comes to rivals, the 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV finds itself in an interesting spot. Its most direct competition comes from the BYD e-Max 7, but it also shapes up as a solid all-electric alternative to hybrid MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki Invicto and Toyota Innova Hycross. And given its pricing and features, it’s also likely to lock horns with electric compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra BE6, and the upcoming Maruti e Vitara. In short, it’s diving into multiple segments.

The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV might just be the missing link in India’s EV puzzle, something that isn’t just green and smart but also familiar and usable. It’s for families who want to go electric without giving up on space, comfort, or features. Or for fleet operators who need a pocket-friendly haulier.
Pricing for the top-spec variants are clearly higher than most compact SUVs, but to be fair, the Clavis EV's enhanced practicality and bigger size seems to justify that. Where you might find the most value is the lower-spec variant which is priced at about Rs 18 lakh. However, it would only be for those who want a 7-seater electric MPV and are okay to miss out on extra range and premium features.
We will soon be getting our hands on this one. Stay tuned for the detailed review on ZigWheels!
