Range Rover Electric Unveiled: The Big Boy Luxury SUV Now Goes Electric!

Range Rover has unveiled the new Range Rover Electric flagship eSUV. In their journey towards electrification, the flagship SUV has now been given an all-electric powertrain. The full-sized luxury SUV has had PHEV options for a few years now, but now it is a sign that the EV technology has evolved enough to carry these large luxury SUVs with good range and reliability.

2026 Range Rover Electric: Exterior

The electric sibling of the Range Rover is not much different from the ICE versions when it comes to styling. The Range Rover Electric carries over the same regal presence of the current-generation Range Rover we know.

The design is not trying to be fancy, but the effort towards simplicity and sophisticated elegance is the name of Range Rover’s design game. On the fascia, the inverted L-shaped DRLs are housed inside the traditional-looking LED headlamps. One of the subtle differences of the Range Rover Electric is the closed-off grille. From a distance, it looks like a traditional grille thanks to the silver accents. Lower down, the bumper maintains the simplicity and includes a silver accent trim on the lower half, which also houses the fog lamps. 

The side profile of the Range Rover also carries over the same design elements from the ICE siblings. The minimalism continues on the side profile with the typical Range Rover design characteristics we’ve known over the years. The horizontal character line starts from the swept-back headlamps all the way to the boot of the Range Rover Electric. The pillars are usually painted all black to give the roof a floating look. The large 22-inch dual-tone alloy wheels do justice to the large proportions of the SUV. 

The Range Rover Electric will be available in both standard-wheelbase (SWB) and long-wheelbase (LWB) options.

The rear end carries the familiar design, including the smoked LED tail lamps, ‘Range Rover’ badging on the black horizontal trim, and the number plate housing in the centre. 

2026 Range Rover Electric: Interior

Climb inside the large luxury SUV, and you’ll not be disappointed. The interior design and features ooze luxury.

The layered dashboard is available in different colour options depending on the specification the customer chooses. The large floating touchscreen infotainment system sits proud at the centre of the dashboard. The driver also gets a digital instrument display. The cabin looks minimalist with only a handful of buttons overall. In typical Range Rover fashion, both front seats get dedicated foldable armrests. 

The overall interior is designed with sophistication and quiet luxury thanks to the premium finishes, leather, and the large panoramic sunroof. 

2026 Range Rover Electric: Features And Safety

The Range Rover Electric has a 13.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, four-zone climate control, customisable ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and a powered tailgate. 

The safety kit includes multiple airbags, hill-hold control (HHC), hill-descent control (HDC), electronic stability control (ESC), parking sensors on the front, side and rear, a 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). 

This generation of the ICE Range Rover has scored 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests. Hence, we can expect a high safety standard for the Range Rover Electric as well. 

2026 Range Rover Electric: Drivetrain 

The Range Rover Electric comes with a 118.5 kWh battery pack for both the short and long wheelbase configurations. Drivetrain specifications are as follows:

AWD - All-Wheel Drive

The Range Rover Electric is capable of charging its batteries at up to 350 kW with a DC fast charger, charging the battery from 10%-80% in 22 minutes.

The Range Rover Electric will pack in the typical Range Rover off-roading credentials, despite it being a luxury SUV. 

Price And Rivals

Range Rover has not yet revealed the prices of the Range Rover Electric. However, we expect prices to be around Rs 3 Crore (ex-showroom). 

The Range Rover Electric will go up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS SUV, and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Electric.

The Range Rover Electric will be a new proposition for the people who travel in their Range Rovers within the city and don’t use them for long-distance journeys. Now that it has an electric powertrain, the quietness in the cabin and the lack of vibrations will be superior to the ICE siblings. 

It also packs in powerful electric motors, which make it capable of accelerating faster than the high-performance V8-powered Range Rover SV.
