The electric car market in India is quickly expanding, and it’s no longer limited to expensive premium models. With charging infrastructure improving and carmakers focusing on accessible EVs, multiple electric cars are set to launch soon in the mass-market segment. From electric SUVs to hatchbacks, here’s a look at the upcoming EV launches in India under Rs 25 lakh.

Leapmotor T03

Expected Price: Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom)

Chinese automaker Leapmotor is expected to launch the T03 in India by the end of this year. The electric hatchback is likely to be retailed in the Indian market through Stellantis’ partnership with the brand. Globally, it is offered with a 37.3 kWh battery pack that delivers a WLTP-claimed range of 265 km, paired with a 95 PS/158 Nm electric motor setup. Once launched, the T03 will take on the likes of the Citroen eC3 and the MG Comet EV.

Mahindra XEV 4e

Expected Price: Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom) 

Mahindra is preparing to launch the electric version of the XUV 3XO, expected to be called the XEV 4e. Its spy shots have already surfaced online, revealing a design similar to the ICE-powered XUV 3XO but with EV-specific cues.  

Inside, it is expected to share its cabin layout with the XUV 3XO, featuring dual 10.25-inch screens, a Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a 360-degree camera. The XEV 4e will likely share its powertrain with the current XUV400 EV, offering two battery pack options, 34.5 kWh and 39.5 kWh, paired with a 150 PS electric motor. It is expected to deliver a claimed range of up to 456 km.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Expected Price: Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom)

Maruti’s first all-electric SUV, the e Vitara, was unveiled at the 2025 Auto Expo and is set to launch soon. It sports a muscular design and aims to be a strong contender in the compact electric SUV segment, taking on the likes of the Creta Electric. Inside, it features a dual-tone cabin with premium touches such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system, digital driver’s display, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, and ADAS technology.

The e Vitara will be offered with two battery options, including a 48.8 kWh pack and 61.1 kWh battery pack. The former will be paired to 144 PS electric motor, while the latter will be mated to 174 PS electric motor. It is expected to offer a claimed range of over 500 km.

VinFast VF6

Expected Price: Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom)

Vietnamese automaker VinFast is readying its entry into India, with the VF6 compact SUV expected to launch soon. It features a striking design with aggressive styling, connected LED tail lamps, and sporty alloy wheels. Inside, it follows a minimalist theme with a large 12.9-inch touchscreen, heads-up display, heated and ventilated front seats, panoramic glass roof, and Level-2 ADAS.

Globally, it gets a 59.6 kWh battery paired with a 204 PS motor, offering a claimed range of up to 410 km. With fast charging capabilities, the VF6 can be recharged from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

Kia Syros EV

Expected Price: Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom)

Kia is expected to debut the electric version of the Syros in early 2026. It will be based on the ICE-powered Syros, featuring a similar design with EV-specific styling tweaks. The Syros EV will likely offer multiple battery options, with a claimed range of around 400 km. On the features front, it is expected to retain the equipment list of the ICE-powered Syros. Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV400 EV.
