While Tata dropped an interior teaser of the 2025 Tata Sierra, Mahindra also decided not to let Tata have all the fun, and they also decided to drop a teaser of their upcoming eSUV, the XEV 9S.
Set to debut on November 27, the XEV 9S will sit on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, shared with its born-electric siblings like the XEV 9e and BE 6. The silhouette may remind you of the XUV700, but don’t mistake this for a rebadged EV.
Here's what we know:
A closer look at the teaser reveals a bunch of key styling elements:
India’s favourite panoramic sunroof!
Black roof rails
Blanked-off grille with vertical inserts, for that typical EV look
Chrome strip running through the lower cladding
Aero-style alloy wheels.
Body-coloured ORVMs with turn indicators,
Flush door handles
Connected LED tail-lamps at the rear
Other than that, we can also make out the angular LED DRLs connected by a sleek light bar with vertically stacked headlamps and fog lamps housed in a triangular enclosure fitting in the XEV family design language.

The teaser also hints at a blue colour option.
While Mahindra hasn’t revealed the interior yet, previous leaks give us a good idea of what’s coming. Expect a triple-screen dashboard layout similar to the XEV 9e, which means a 12.3-inch driver display, infotainment screen, and co-driver entertainment screen, all housed under one seamless panel.
Other expected highlights include:
A two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo
Ventilated and massaging front seats
Triple-zone climate control
Multi-colour ambient lighting,
16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Surround Sound
Multiple wireless chargers
In typical Mahindra fashion, safety is expected to be strong, with seven airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and tyre pressure monitoring.
While Mahindra is yet to reveal performance numbers, the XEV 9S is expected to borrow its powertrain setup from the XEV 9e.
It will most probably be offered with the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs and an electric motor on the rear axle. It’s not confirmed yet, but it’ll be amazing to have a dual-motor setup on the XEV 9S, giving it AWD prowess.
Expect strong instant torque, decent real-world range to spice things up for enthusiasts.

The Mahindra XEV 9S is expected to start from around Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom), with higher trims touching the Rs 30 lakh mark. It is slated to make its India debut on 27th November, 2025.
Ideally, it does not have a direct competition in the SUV space, but it will go against the Kia Carens Clavis EV MPV as an alternative.

Mahindra is entering a segment where it does not have direct competition, as of now. 7-seater SUV with a 500 km+ range is a good product proposition for those who use the car for usual city runabouts and for occasional full-family trips. Even the eco-friendly peeps might be interested in getting one home.
