Mahindra has launched the XEV 9S, its fully-electric 7-seater SUV, with prices starting at Rs 19.95 lakh ex-showroom. The electric SUV will be available in four variants: Pack One Above, Pack Two Above, Pack Three, and Pack Three Above, and three battery packs: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh.
Here's a clear breakdown of what each variant brings to the table so that you know exactly what you're paying for:
Available with:
59 kWh Battery Pack - Rs 19.95 lakh
79 kWh Battery Pack - Rs 21.95 lakh
Feature Highlights:
Bi-LED projector headlamps
LED DRLs and LED taillamps
17-inch steel wheels
Flush-type door handles
Semi-digital instrument cluster
Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
6 airbags

This is the entry point into the XEV 9S range, but it still feels far from basic. The cabin features Mahindra's triple-screen layout - with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch co-passenger screen housed in a single wide panel. You also get a panoramic sunroof, single-zone climate control, a 2-step reclining backrest for the second row, rear AC vents, and a flat floor for better utilisation of space across all three rows. Basic connected features and keyless entry are standard here.
Safety features in this trim include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking sensors. This variant doesn't include ADAS, though.
Available with:
70 kWh Battery Pack - Rs 24.45 lakh
79 kWh Battery Pack - Rs 25.45 lakh
Feature Highlights (In addition to Pack One Above):
Soft wrapped dashboard & door trims
16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos
VenueScapes Live
BYOD- Device Mounting Provision on Seats
Ventilated front seats
Auto Dimming IRVM
NFC Key Card
Level 2 ADAS (1 radar + 1 vision camera)
18-inch alloy wheels

Building on the base, this gets a raft of meaningful upgrades: ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS with radar and camera support. This also brings upgraded infotainment with a Dolby Atmos-enabled 16-speaker Harman Kardon music system and wireless charging.
Available with:
79 kWh Battery Pack - Rs 27.35 lakh
Feature Highlights (In addition to Pack Two Above):
Intelligent Adaptive Suspension
Sequential turn indicators
7 airbags
Level 2+ ADAS with 5 radars + 1 vision camera
Acoustic laminated glass
Dual wireless charging (front + rear)
Powered co-driver seat with Power Boss Mode
Ventilated second-row seats

This variant casts the spotlight on luxury and technology, which adds in intelligent adaptive suspension, ambient lighting with 16 million colours, upgraded ADAS suite, and premium interior trims. This variant adds an additional airbag, taking the number to 7 from 6. The feature-rich cabin makes the SUV feel more futuristic and indulgent.
Available with:
79 kWh Battery Pack - Rs 29.45 lakh
Feature Highlights (In addition to Pack Three):
Night Trail carpet lamps
CapTouch steering-mounted switches
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset
24 GB RAM + 128 GB storage
AutoPark Assist
VisionX AR Head-Up Display

The flagship trim introduces Mahindra's most advanced tech suite. The highpoint list includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chipset with improved computing power, AutoPark Assist, video calling, VisionX AR HUD, Secure360 surveillance system, and advanced driver monitoring system. Carpet lamps and steering-mounted controls further boost the premium quotient.
Mahindra doesn't oversell its XEV 9S with inflated trim levels. The variant split is logical, and even the base Pack One Above trim offers substantial value for a 7-seater electric SUV. If you want a simple, roomy, practical EV for family use or daily commuting, Pack One Above or Pack Two Above offers the best value. For buyers who want longer range and don't want to compromise on flexibility, Pack Three or Pack Three Above makes a lot of sense. Our pick would be the Pack Three, since it offers almost everything from the lot while prioritising safety and convenience.
