This one is the rugged version of the CNG bike, complete with knuckle guards, braced handlebar and a few other changes

The Bajaj CNG bike has been spotted testing once again before its launch on June 18. The CNG bike will have two variants – a roadster and a rugged one – and the one seen here is the rugged version of the bike, confirming what we reported earlier.

The rugged version, as seen here, is equipped with knuckle guards, a raised and braced handlebar, and a sump guard. There’s also an extended tyre hugger at the rear. The CNG bike will have a sloper-like engine with around 125cc capacity. It will primarily be fuelled by CNG, but there will be an auxiliary petrol tank for emergencies. The CNG tank will be positioned under the rider’s seat. CNG-powered vehicles are known to have excellent mileage, resulting in lower running costs as CNG is more affordable than petrol. This should also apply to Bajaj’s new bike, making it an economical commuter.

The electric bike segment is still at a nascent stage, especially with the current level of battery technology. So, they do not offer as much range as petrol-powered bikes, yet. On the other hand, CNG is a great compromise as it will ensure relatively lower emissions, not to mention being cheaper to run. We’ll have to wait and see how Bajaj markets the bike, especially considering the limited CNG infrastructure in the country.

Based on the trademark filing, this bike is expected to be called the Bruzer. We expect the prices to start from Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom), rivaling the likes of the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100 and the Bajaj Platina 110.
